111 Adrenal Fatigue & Qualia – Hensley

Adrenal Fatigue Recovery

Joel Hensley, Burlington KY /Cincinnati OH. Clinical Nutrition/Health Coach/ Fitness Coach is a client guest with a personal story of adrenal fatigue and more natural recovery based on, as we heartily and repeatedly recommend, informed biomedical testing. With testing, he discovered the reality of what he felt somatically and sought to correct his unexplained chronic fatigue, lethargy, and confusion.

Adrenal Fatigue, Adrenal Exhaustion, Chronic Fatigue Are Treatable

Noteworthy is his consequential use of the Qualia supplement from Neurohacker. Joel ran an adrenal hormone panel [see the second page here for hormone testing video explanations] to discover confirmation of his suspicion of adrenal exhaustion.

His presentation: foggy mind, no concentration, drive or mental stamina. His treatment with a variety of supplements helped him deal with Seasonal Affective Disorder, mild depression, anxiety, and anger. He felt better, but still had no edge, so he went deeper in his search for improved recovery strategies.

His adrenal fatigue search and journey, with links to his process below, led him to the Qualia supplement protocol.

Ed Note: I started posting about adrenal fatigue issues at CorePsych more than 10 years ago, and in that span of time witnessed an evolution in thinking, medical recognition, and treatment options. Why consider adrenal fatigue? Simple: treatment failure occurs if the underlying cause is not first identified, then measured, then treated appropriately. Cortisol imbalances in the adrenal don’t respond effectively to neurotransmitter manipulation with psychiatric medications.

Stimulant medications frequently cover underlying medical issues such as adrenal fatigue.  See this video playlist on ADHD and symptoms of ineffective stimulants through watching for the PM Drop: http://corepsych.com/drop.

  • Interesting, Important and helpful
    April 28, 2018 by J.M.I from Sweden

I am listening in from Sweden, and I learn so much from Dr Parker and his interesting guests. Sadly, information like this is hard to find amongst practitioners here, and underlying factors to symptoms are of little interest. I am thankful to Dr Parker dedicating time in spreading word about helping people with psycological dysfunctions from a non conventional angle. Thank you!

I especially liked this Podcast because it provided a wealth of valuable brain health research and tips in an approachable, easy-to-listen-to format. The rapport between the Guest Speaker (Dr. Braun) and Host (Dr. Parker) was evident, and I hope to hear another Podcast with this Guest Speaker!

  • Fascinating
February 1, 2017 by jinki1 from United States

If you love science and psychology, then this is for you. The brain is such a mysterious machine, and listening to experts discuss how it works is fascinating. This seems like a pick-and-choose type podcast: I'll skip the shows focusing on estrogen and alzeimer's and go for creativity, anxiety, music, and others. But what I've listened to so far is great.

  • My Brain Thanks You!

  • “How I Found Myself” Dean Roberts
December 2, 2016 by Don Hutcheson from United States

I just had the pleasure of listening to Dr. Charles Parker’s latest interview with Mr. Dean Roberts on the topic: “How I Found Myself.” The thesis of this remarkable podcast is that the difference between treatment success and failure for conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD and others is often the result of omitting crucial brain, biomedical, and functional neuroscience information and insights. Well done and much-needed. Wish you continuing success!

I have suffered from fatigue since age 12, now 35. It was so bad i went to alternative high bc I became angry. Gut problems, hormones, weight, depression, all major issues. 2008 introduced to stimulants, changed my life forever. Only thing that worked except now on over 400mg and can sleep like a baby, depressed, 60lb Weight gain, semi functional and ready to stop trying. Prozac, Xanax, adderall and Ritalin, constant nausea, no focus, I’m practically walking dead. Pls help

Suzanne, Yours is a very typical narrative seen repeatedly in my offices – and is representative of the reasons I’ve invested years in learning the biomedical details that cause those various comorbid conditions. Very likely issues are several: IgG food sensitivities, hormone imbalances, and other downstream consequences of those challenges with molecular neurophysiology as the endpoint. Today once can access/understand these factors cost-effectively with the variety of studies described in the videos on the second page here: http://corepsych.com/tests Your next steps my seem foreboding but the answers are far more available than even 10 yrs ago. – cp
