Food addiction and binge eating from a different perspective

After decades of struggle, study, and a self-funded research survey with more than 40,000 people, I discovered a surprisingly unusual way to stop overeating. I used to feel I couldn’t stop thinking about food, even when working with patients. I was almost 70 pounds overweight and was fully capable of dislodging my jaw to empty the delicatessen into it!

Dr. Glenn Livingston – Who

Glenn started this food addiction journey when he hit a weight bearing wall: [4:42]

Glenn Livingston, Ph.D. is a veteran psychologist and longtime CEO of a multi-million dollar consulting firm which has serviced several Fortune 500 clients in the food industry. You may have seen his (or his company’s)  previous work, theories, and research in the main periodicals like The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Sun-Times, The Indiana Star-Ledger, The NY Daily News, and American Demographics.  You may also have heard him on ABC, WGN, and CBS radio, or UPN TV.

I was very successful, but…  [6.45]

Disillusioned by what traditional psychology had to offer overweight and individuals suffering from food addiction, Dr. Livingston spent several decades researching the nature of binging and overeating via work with his patients and a self-funded research program with more than 40,000 participants.

Most significant, however, was his personal journey out of obesity and food prison to an average, healthy weight and a much-improved relationship with food.

I overcame my obsession with food and was able to free my mind to concentrate on more constructive things.
