Genetic Testing Improves Treatment Options

Antifragility is beyond resilience or robustness. The resilient resists shocks and stays the same;
the antifragile gets better.
~ Nicholas Nassim Taleb – Antifragile: Things That Gain From Disorder

Dr. Jay Lombard is an internationally acclaimed neurologist, author, and keynote speaker who creates genetic testing solutions for brain health and intractable neurological disorders. Dr. Lombard integrates biological, psychological, and existential components in his holistic treatment approach. He is the co-founder and creator of Genomind, a medical laboratory company utilizing genetic testing to improve neuropsychiatric conditions, including Alzheimer’s, Autism, and Depression.

The founder of TedMed, Jay Walker, describes Dr. Lombard as “part Freud, part Sherlock Holmes.” Key opinion leaders have regarded Dr. Lombard’s discoveries as fundamentally shifting the paradigm of psychiatric medicine. Dr. Lombard was Chief of Neurology at both Westchester Square Medical Center and Bronx Lebanon Hospital. He was a clinical assistant professor at New York Presbyterian Hospital and Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Lombard is published extensively in medical textbooks, peer-reviewed papers, and medical journals. In addition, he authored several interesting non-fiction works related to the effects of nutrition on the brain including The Brain Wellness Plan. His newest book, The Mind of God, explores the relationship between neuroscience and faith.

I know Dr. Lombard personally, and you will hear how his insights have added to my understanding of measurable recovery options for psychiatric treatment failure.

Contributions to Improve the Neuroscience Dialogue

Dr. Lombard was also an adviser to the film industry as a medical consultant for Academy Award-winning directors Jonathan Demme and Martin Scorsese on Hollywood feature films. He is a sought-after speaker internationally and has appeared as a guest on numerous TV and radio programs, including Larry King Live, TedMed, CBS News, the Food Network, and with Dr. Mehmet Oz.

He is currently the Chief Scientific Officer at Genomind and in private practice as the Clinical Director of Neuroscience at LifeSpan Medicine, where he is well known for his compassion and dedication to his patients.

  • Fascinating
    February 1, 2017 by jinki1 from United States

    If you love science and psychology, then this is for you. The brain is such a mysterious machine, and listening to experts discuss how it works is fascinating. This seems like a pick-and-choose type podcast: I'll skip the shows focusing on estrogen and alzeimer's and go for creativity, anxiety, music, and others. But what I've listened to so far is great.

  • “How I Found Myself” Dean Roberts
    December 2, 2016 by Don Hutcheson from United States

    I just had the pleasure of listening to Dr. Charles Parker’s latest interview with Mr. Dean Roberts on the topic: “How I Found Myself.” The thesis of this remarkable podcast is that the difference between treatment success and failure for conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD and others is often the result of omitting crucial brain, biomedical, and functional neuroscience information and insights. Well done and much-needed. Wish you continuing success!
